About Us

A phoenix rises for Maui

How a handful of free performances for a grieving town became a troupe that now performs across the island — without ever losing sight of why we started.

2023 — The fire that changed Lahaina

In August 2023, wildfire tore through Lahaina and reshaped Maui. In the weeks that followed, a small group of fire and flow artists began performing for free — on the beach, at shelters, at community gatherings — with one simple goal: to help their neighbors feel something other than grief, even just for an evening.

Since then — Lahaina Phoenix takes shape

What started as a handful of volunteer shows grew into something people asked for by name. We took on the name Lahaina Phoenix, built a proper repertoire of fire and LED work, and kept showing up for community events whenever we could.

Today — Performing for hire, giving back always

We now perform for corporate functions, resorts, weddings, and private parties across Maui. Booking us funds the mission — every private and corporate event helps us keep showing up for our community at no cost, the way we always have.

Trained artists, island-raised

Our performers are trained in fire safety and flow arts, and most of us call Maui home. We rehearse our fire and LED routines the same way whether we’re on a resort lawn or a backyard patio — because the audience deserves the same care either way.

We work closely with venues and event planners on safety requirements, insurance, and space needs well ahead of every show.

Four things we don’t compromise on

Community

Lahaina Phoenix exists because of Maui’s community. We stay accountable to it in every booking we take.

Craft

Every routine is rehearsed and refined — fire and flow work take real practice, and it shows on stage.

Safety

Clear safety protocols, fire-safe staging, and open communication with every venue we work with.

Aloha

We perform with warmth and respect for the culture and history of the place this all began.
